In Berlin, Pink Floyd leader Roger Waters was suspected of glorifying Nazism and inciting hatred, writes edition of Der Tagesspiegel.
The investigation began after a concert at which the musician appeared in a suit similar to a Nazi uniform.
The fact is that Waters had a red bandage on his arm. At the same time, during the performance of one of the songs, the musician “shot” from a model rifle at the audience. Law enforcement agencies took it all as a glorification of Nazism.
However, journalists admitted that Waters simply remembered the film by Alan Parker, filmed according to the script of the musician. In the film, the protagonist uses drugs before the performance and, under their influence, begins to imagine that he is at a Nazi rally. This film is based on the 1979 Pink Floyd album.
Roger Waters himself on his Twitter page denied all accusations attributed to him and stated that he opposed fascism, injustice and bigotry.
Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, spoke about real Nazism and the distortion of history in a number of European countries.
