Authorities arrest suspect in false threat of shooting at Ontario mall

A suspected Hispanic man who caused a panic at a San Bernardino County mall over the alleged presence of an active shooter has been arrested. on charges of false threat.

Angel Marin, 44, a resident of Rancho Cucamonga, was detained by the Ontario Police Department. after an anonymous tip was received identifying him.

Reportedly Hispanic allegedly shouted “He’s got a gun!” as he ran through the Ontario Mills mall during the incident, which occurred on Monday, May 29..

The alleged threat that Marin yelled caused panic among the mall’s patrons, and people ran in an attempt to protect themselves from the alleged active shooter.while the Ontario police launched a major operation in the face of a perceived threat.

Moments after the reports, police determined that there was no active threat from the shooter and stated that An investigation will be conducted to identify the culprit..

Authorities published security camera image of a person believed to be responsible for the false threatwhich made it possible to establish his identity through an anonymous complaint.

Marin was arrested this Sunday evening at the Cucamonga ranch. and was sent to the West Valley Detention Center.

Spaniard faces charges of false threat of emergencyand one charge of domestic violence, according to prison records.

Marine’s bail is set at $130,000. and is expected to appear in court this Wednesday.
