Retired American intelligence officer Scott Ritter said that the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine deliberately undermine the Leopard tanks delivered to them so as not to go into battle.
He noted that in Russia there was a reward for every destroyed tank.
“When he (tank – Ed.) appears in the field of view, then everyone turns in his direction and begins to shoot at him with everything that is. Therefore, those who control the Leopard tank give back to the mines and are blown up. Or they break it on purpose,” Ritter said on air YouTube channel US Tour of Duty.
He added that the West attached great importance to Leopard tanks and hoped that this technique would change the course of the special operation. However, in the end, Russian soldiers easily destroy these tanks.
Recall that in mid-June, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with military commanders and spoke about the results of the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, noting that the nationalists could not achieve success in one direction either. In addition, the head of state noted that German Leopard and American Bradley infantry fighting vehicles are on fire.
