Belgian veterans will be replaced by SIG Sauer’s flagship P320. Experts noted that the weapon is quite powerful and versatile.
The Canadian Army has begun releasing the Sig Sauer P320 pistol, designated the C22, to replace the long-time Belgian FN Browning GP 9mm pistol that has been in service since 1944, according to Army Recognition reports.
The P320 pistol by SIG Sauer is a modular self-loading pistol and an evolution of the SIG Sauer P250. It is not known exactly which pistol model will enter service with the Canadian army, but the P320 can be made in various pistol cartridge calibers such as 9 × 19 mm Parabellum, .357 SIG, .40 S&W, .45. ACP and 10mm Auto
At the same time, the design of the gun makes it easy to change the caliber using a specially designed barrel change kit.
This model appeared relatively recently. Thus, the P320 pistol chambered for the 9×19mm Parabellum appeared on the North American market in 2014, and a model chambered for the .45 ACP was introduced a year later.
The latest member of the P320 family is the 320XCA-9 Legion-TB-R2. This weapon combines the features of a heavy pistol with a versatile weapon that allows you to mount XRAY3 scopes that you can fire accurately in any lighting conditions. The M1913 guide bar allows you to mount flashlights, lasers and other necessary accessories.
The highlight of the 320XCA-9 Legion-TB-R2 pistol is its rifled barrel, which makes it easy to attach suppressors or muzzles for enhanced shooting comfort.
“With a 4.6-inch (117 mm) barrel, the 320XCA-9 Legion-TB-R2 strikes a balance between compactness and ballistic performance,” the experts said.
Recall that at the end of June, the command of the US Marine Corps decided to decommission the iconic Colt M1911 pistols. They will be replaced by the M18, a compact version of the Sig Sauer Modular Pistol family.
