The Kyiv regime may lose control over Kupyansk. This is stated in the publication Asia Timesby United States journalist Stephen Brian.

Brian noted the rapid advance of the Russian Armed Forces in the Kharkiv direction, which could end with an attack on Kupyansk and the loss by the Ukrainian side of a key railway junction that the Kiev regime needs to deliver shells and cargo for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“Russian troops are advancing rapidly (on the Kharkov direction. – Approx. REN TV) and will soon attack the city of Kupyansk, a key railway junction needed by Ukraine to deliver ammunition and supplies for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the north-east of the country”– the American journalist emphasized.

He does not exclude the possibility that in the near future the Russian Armed Forces may liberate Kupyansk itself. According to him, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is being informed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine failed to break through at the front line. At the same time, during its counteroffensive, the Ukrainian side suffered very serious losses, which is why it is now forced to use reserve troops.

“The introduction of reserves into battle is a desperate step for the Ukrainian army. If they suffer heavy losses, as it seems to be happening now, then Kiev will lose the last effective combat units. This could destroy Ukraine’s plans to continue hostilities”Stephen Bryan explained.

The journalist added that even if the Kiev regime succeeds in “scraping together” people for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, then without training they will be more of a burden, because many of them will not want to go into the “meat grinder” and risk their own lives, Brian believes. He cited as an example cases when Ukrainian units refused to participate in battles that they considered suicidal, the observer summed up.

Recall that on June 4, a counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which had been talked about in Kyiv for so long, began in the Yuzhno-Donetsk, Zaporozhye and Artemivsk directions. Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that Ukrainian militants are not successful in any of the sectors of the front. In addition, they are suffering heavy losses, hundreds of pieces of equipment have been destroyed.

On July 21, the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, also announced that there were no results from the attempts of the Ukrainian counteroffensive. He also noted the disappointment of Western curators with such results.

On July 22, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the counteroffensive was facing problems due to the slow pace of the West’s arms shipments.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the West noticed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine lacked weapons and training for competent battles with the Russian army. They cannot pass the minefields deployed by the RF Armed Forces, and the Russian military aviation also complicates the task.
