On Tuesday, the United States announced a new military aid package to support Ukraine in its defense against a Russian invasion, which includes additional artillery and air defense ammunition, mine-clearing equipment and medical vehicles.
Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said in a statement that the new military assistance package includes additional mine-clearing equipment, air defense missiles, artillery ammunition and HIMAR (High Mobility Artillery Rocket) systems, and more than three million small arms rounds.
Announced today in the military aid package for Ukraine, the United States has provided more than $43 billion in security assistance to Ukraine since the start of the Russian invasion in February 2022, the Department of Defense (DoD) said.
The new package, announced on Tuesday, is being implemented as part of the cuts previously targeted at Ukraine.
“Today, the department also announced [paquete] additional security assistance to meet Ukraine’s critical security and defense needs,” Pentagon Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh said at a briefing today.
“The United States will continue to work with its allies and partners to provide Ukraine with the necessary capabilities to meet its immediate combat needs and long-term security requirements,” Singh said.
