“Biological threat” on board: US pilots cancel flight due to diarrhoea passenger

American pilots reacted harshly to a passenger’s diarrhea. The pilots aborted the flight, deciding that a highly threatening situation had developed. Meanwhile, 20 years ago, the crew of another plane did not react to the threat: The plane circled for four hours and then crashed to the ground. The Mirror broadcast wrote about what happened on board this time.

An emergency occurred on a Delta flight departing from an airport in Atlanta (Georgia, USA) and en route to Barcelona (Spain). When the plane reached an altitude of about 11 km, the crew abruptly stopped the flight and returned to the start.

The controllers communicated with the crew about the reasons for such a decision. In particular, the pilot reported that one of the passengers had diarrhea shortly after takeoff and that “mess is all over the place”. On the ground, he explained that he evaluated the situation as follows: This is a “biohazard issue”.

The situation on the ship was learned through a message on Twitter. In one of the messages, a photo of a piece of paper on which flight controllers wrote notes about flights was published. The note stated that the plane’s return was due to diarrhea and a biological threat.

“Diverting to ATL – passenger diarrhea all over the plane – biohazard,” the dispatcher wrote.

Below the note about the unusual situation on board was the comment of an angry passenger. The man noted that he and his son were on their way to Barcelona, ​​and the flight had already taken 2 hours. However, for unknown reasons, he is now returning to Atlanta again.

The publication announced that the flight to Barcelona still departs. The plane landed, cleared the “biological threat” and flew along the route. He also noted that the crew was different. Not because of any health problems, but because the pilots’ shifts are over.

Note that the flight from Atlanta to Barcelona takes 8 hours: the plane must exceed 7 thousand km. It would also move over the Atlantic Ocean, where there was no possibility of an emergency landing.
