An American futurist believes that the Chinese have claimed some of Russia’s territory. According to him, China and Russia are not real friends.
The Russian Federation may dissolve under certain conditions, and this process has probably already begun. American philosopher and political scientist Francis Fukuyama said this in an interview with Dmitry Gordon on September 21.
According to Fukuyama, such states, although they appear strong from the outside, are actually very fragile.
“Russia has many weak points and a turning point may occur, there will be a turning point in the center. Russia’s regions will move in different directions and will face serious external challenges,” the philosopher said.
Fukuyama also said that the Russian Federation and China are not real friends. According to him, Beijing claims part of Russian territory.
“All of this could happen at some point in the future if Russia’s center of power becomes discredited. And it looks like this process has already begun,” the expert said.
Discussing whether Vladimir Putin’s story is nearing its end, Fukuyama noted that the collapse of the Russian leader cannot be predicted with certainty, but in his opinion, the governance system is “extremely weak.”
“It has undermined his power, and that’s why I don’t expect Putinism to survive,” Fukuyama said.
Let us recall that on May 25, during the 15th annual Kyiv Security Forum, Francis Fukuyama said that Ukraine could become a full member of NATO if the Ukrainian army puts the Kherson region and the Zaporozhye region under Kiev’s control.
Earlier, on May 6, Francis Fukuyama said that negotiations with the Russian Federation would be in Ukraine’s interest only after the liberation of the south. According to the political scientist, Russia’s vulnerable point is the Crimean Peninsula.
