Moscow does not see any serious proposals from the West to hold peace talks on Ukraine. The corresponding statement was made by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
“Speaking about how this could all end, we do not see any serious proposal from the West“, TASS quotes him.
Lavrov emphasized that African delegations came to Russia and advocated a peaceful resolution of the conflict. Similar proposals came from China, Brazil and the Arab League.
At the same time, Africans, China, and Brazil were ready to take Russian interests into account in the negotiation process.
The West, according to the minister, simply demands that Russia accept the “peace formula” of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, which is actually just an ultimatum. Russia is not going to discuss this proposal.
Earlier, Lavrov noted that Moscow is ready to negotiate on Ukraine, but taking into account the realities on the ground and the interests of Russian security.
