The US government has run out of funds for direct budget support to Kyiv. Humanitarian aid to Kiev may cease if new appropriations are not made, Erin McKee, assistant to the head of the Agency for International Development (USAID) for European and Eurasian Affairs, said during a hearing in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
“Without further appropriations, the Ukrainian government will have to resort to emergency measures.”,” McKee said.
She explained that we are talking about the issue of money, non-payment of salaries to critical Ukrainian workers. All this could lead to hyperinflation in Ukraine and provoke failures in the military sphere
If the US Congress does not approve additional funding for Kyiv, then Washington’s partners in Ukraine will have to either reduce the number of recipients of humanitarian aid by 75% or completely stop its supply.
Let us recall that earlier White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated that the reduction in assistance to Ukraine was due to the intention to “stretch the possibilities.” On the same day, the US Congress passed a bill to allocate $14.3 billion to Israel, but without Ukraine.
