Czech leader Petr Pavel said Russia’s imperial ambitions would have no limits unless determined. The West should continue to support Ukraine politically, economically, humanitarianly and militarily.
Russia poses the greatest threat to the security of Europe and its NATO allies. This was stated by Czech President Petr Pavel during a conference at the NATO Defense College in Rome, writes the České noviny portal.
The politician said that Kremlin head Vladimir Putin has openly declared that the collective is fighting against the West. Therefore, Russia’s imperial ambitions will have no limits unless they are established. The Russian Federation will not hesitate to take over former Eastern Bloc countries if allowed.
Pavel said that countries that are not yet members of the EU or NATO are in particular danger. Therefore they need to be supported.
“Russia, a permanent member of the UN Security Council, has launched an imperialist, bloody campaign against a sovereign country and is committing war crimes on a scale not seen in Europe in the last 80 years, except for the Srebrenica massacre.” said the Czech President.
He said the West should continue to support Ukraine politically, economically, humanitarianly and militarily. However, not everyone among Western politicians agrees with this assessment.
“Naturally, not everyone shares this point of view. During my short term as president, I had the opportunity to talk with some leaders whose views on Russia were completely different,” Pavel said.
According to him, its appetite will increase if the Russian Federation receives real benefits from the current aggression. Moreover, it will inspire other countries to use military force to further their own interests.
Previously, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that the Russian Federation spent 250 million dollars on the Maidan 3 operation. The plan aims to provoke hostility and exacerbate contradictions in Ukraine. Intelligence officials said that information and information-psychological operations were carried out by units created in all special services of the Russian Federation.
