“Domestic political struggle”: Hungary reacted to SBU’s statements regarding Poroshenko’s ban on leaving

According to Hungarian government spokesman Zoltán Kovacs, the incident with Poroshenko allegedly confirms that Ukraine is not yet ready for European Union membership.

Hungary expressed its opinion regarding the statement of the Security Service of Ukraine regarding the ban on travel abroad by the fifth President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko. According to them, this shows that Ukraine is not ready for European Union membership. This was reported by press secretary Hungarian government Zoltan Kovacs.

In the statement, it was stated that Hungary “does not want to play any role in President Zelensky’s internal political struggle.”

“Such news and political purges are further evidence that Ukraine is not yet ready for European Union membership,” Kovacs said.

Poroshenko not released from Ukraine: what is known

Let us remind you that former President Petro Poroshenko said at the border on December 1 that he was not allowed to leave Ukraine. He called what was happening “anti-Ukrainian sabotage” and also noted that it was a business trip signed by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada.

Later, First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Alexander Kornienko commented on the situation with Petro Poroshenko’s departure abroad. He stated that he had to give instructions for the cancellation of the exit permit upon the notice that read “For official use”.

In response, the SBU announced on December 2 that Petro Poroshenko planned a meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. The Ministry claims that the Russian Federation plans to use this meeting in its own IPSO.
