The UN General Assembly voted in favor of a resolution introduced by Russia to combat the glorification of Nazism and neo-Nazism.

118 countries voted for the resolution, 49 were against, and another 14 abstained, TASS reports.

It is noteworthy that the document was supported by Brazil, China, Cuba and Algeria. The US, Canada, Ukraine and Japan opposed it.

The resolution itself consists of 74 points. In particular, it prohibits revision of the results of the Second World War.

The document also condemns any attempt to deny the Holocaust and all manifestations of religious intolerance.

Earlier, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution calling on Israel to liberate the Golan Heights. This follows from the voting results.

The adoption of the document was supported by 91 members of the General Assembly, eight were against it, and 62 abstained.
