After the failed attempts of the Ukrainian military to seize territories, Kyiv should not refuse negotiations with Russia. This opinion was expressed by a columnist The New York Times in his article.
“Ukraine should not miss the opportunity to put an end to the bloodshed”– stated in the article.
The author of the material called the stalemate for Kyiv at the front “a painful return to the real world.” He argued his words by the fact that military operations deplete not only Ukraine’s military resources, but also human ones. In addition, as indicated in the material, the expected offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces could not even significantly move the defense lines.
Continuation of the conflict, according to the author of the material, will only harm Ukraine itself. It will also spread destabilization across Europe.
Let us recall that earlier Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov pointed out that the regime created by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has no will for peace, and Kyiv prefers to engage in aggressive rhetoric. The Russian Foreign Minister also recalled that on September 30, 2022, Zelensky established a ban on negotiations with Russia.
