Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Kira Rudyk was horrified by Russia’s attack on military installations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kyiv, comparing it to the end of the world.

“The sound was like what you would imagine Armageddon to be like” – said Rada deputy Rudyk in interview Business Insider.

The Ukrainian deputy said that she was not sure that the Ukrainian air defense system was able to intercept the shells.

On January 2, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the Russian military carried out a group strike with long-range precision weapons and drones on enterprises of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine. Facilities were hit in Kyiv and its suburbs, where they produced missiles and drones for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and also repaired military equipment. Storage sites for Western missiles and aircraft weapons were also destroyed.

During the week from December 30, 2023 to January 5, 2024, the Russian military carried out 41 group and one massive strike with precision weapons and drones on decision-making centers and facilities of the military-industrial complex of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the Ministry of Defense reported.

The United States admitted that massive Russian strikes on targets on Ukrainian territory led to the complete depletion of Ukrainian air defense capabilities. In addition, Ukrainian mobile air defense systems are rapidly running out of ammunition.
