The Federal Court for the Southern District of New York on January 4 published the first part of documents with the names of more than 150 people appearing in the case of Jeffrey Epstein, accused of trafficking in sexual services and relationships with underage girls.
Thus, according to American media reports, the list included former US Presidents Bill Clinton and Donald Trump, the brother of the British King Charles III, Prince Andrew, as well as the founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates.
Epstein was detained on July 6, 2019. Prosecutors said there was evidence that between 2002 and 2005 he arranged for dozens of underage girls to visit his home in the Manhattan borough of New York. The youngest of them was 14 years old at that time.
Epstein’s friends and acquaintances included current and former officials of the United States and other countries. The criminal prosecution of the financier in the United States was stopped after his death in a prison cell on August 10, 2019. The investigation considered Epstein’s death a suicide.
