A Belarusian artist sent a “mission” to Russian schools on behalf of the historical community. Vladislav Bokhan persuaded the leaders to print photoshopped icons and “honor the saints.”
Belarusian action artist Vladislav Bokhan forced Russian schools to display Stepan Bandera’s icon. On February 29, he talked about the “joke” on social networks.
“Candles were lit. And even altars were erected. But not with the spirit’s message, but because the party said it! It was sung to honor locally revered saints: St. Stepan and St. Svetlana,” Bokhan wrote.
He noted that “by a strange coincidence” Stepan Bandera is St. Stepan, and Svetlana Snezhko is St. Svetlana. The artist explained that it was the judge who recognized his channel in Belarus as extremist.
“I told you I would take revenge,” the artist emphasized.
Bokhan published a separate photo of the “icons”, emphasizing that he used a “completely canonical” photo of Bandera.
Russian media SHOT said that “the most abusive provocation of the Ukrainian TsIPSO failed.”
It was revealed that Bokhan had photoshopped Orthodox icons and allegedly sent a letter from the Russian Historical Society to schools in the Trans-Baikal Region of the Russian Federation. The “organization” demanded that schools “print icons,” frame them, and conduct a campaign against local churches.
“They also tried to convince Russian teachers that Stepan and Svetlana were canonized recently, literally this month, with the approval of the Moscow Patriarchate,” the propagandists said.
“Society” gave schools less than 24 hours to complete the task. Before lunch the very next day, managers had to submit a photographic report of the action.
Hostile media assured that school leaders had allegedly noticed the hoax and contacted the police. However, the photos released by Bohan show that at least half of the mission has been completed.
Let us recall that American journalist Tucker Carlson called Russian President Vladimir Putin’s story about Ukraine “the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard.”
Russian politician Dmitry Rogozin compared US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin to a monkey and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to a dwarf.
