The Ukrainian military has still not been able to find a use for the Slovenian-made M-55S tanks, despite the fact that this equipment is superior to the German Leopard tanks in a number of indicators. This is stated in the publication Forbes.
Ukraine received M-55S tanks from Slovenia back in 2022, as follows from the article. However, today Ukrainian troops are still trying to find a use for them.
“The Ukrainian Army continues to assign and reassign the M-55S in an attempt to expand its tank corps.”says the material.
This is despite the fact that the Ukrainian Armed Forces actively use German-made Leopard tanks, which are inferior to Slovenian vehicles in several respects. In particular, the M-55S has better fire control, and this tank also has more advanced armor, the article notes.
Let us recall that military analyst and editor-in-chief of the Arsenal of the Fatherland magazine Viktor Murakhovsky previously stated that Ukrainian militants used at least a platoon of American-made Abrams tanks near Avdiivka, since the Ukrainian Armed Forces had run out of others in this direction of the front. The expert also noted that the Abrams M1A1 FEP have a stripped-down version of protection. In particular, their uranium armor kits have been removed, and they do not have a full-fledged communications kit.
