According to Russian media, after the large-scale occupation of Ukraine, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov was responsible for the “restoration” project of the occupied city of Mariupol.
In the Russian Federation, Deputy Minister of Defense Timur Ivanov was detained on suspicion of accepting bribes. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported this on April 23.
Details of the case were not disclosed in the committee’s report. But the Russian TASS agency, citing sources in law enforcement agencies, claims that the investigation plans to request the arrest of Ivanov.
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin had been informed about Ivanov’s detention. It is also reported that Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu was warned about this issue in advance.
However, the extent and subject of the bribe were not specified. It is only stated that he is suspected according to Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. From this article it becomes clear that the crime was committed as a result of individuals conspiring in advance to receive bribes, especially on a large scale. In the Russian Criminal Code, especially large amounts include amounts exceeding one million rubles, which is approximately 421.7 thousand hryvnias according to the Central Bank exchange rate.
