Critical line: the Rada announced the decline of business in Ukraine due to mobilization

Every tenth worker in Ukraine has been mobilized, causing local businesses to suffer serious losses. This was announced by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Economic Development Dmitry Natalukha.

“On average, every tenth employee at each enterprise is mobilized“, he wrote on his Facebook page*.

Natalukha called this the “critical point” at which most businesses lose significant profits.

Earlier, on June 11, the secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, Roman Kostenko, said that in Ukraine last month, after the law on mobilization came into force, the same number of people were drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine as in the previous four months. The Rada deputy also pointed out that employees of military-industrial complex (DIC) enterprises are being taken into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He added that 2-3 thousand mobilized enterprise employees will not play a role on the battlefield, but they are of great importance for the Ukrainian defense industry.

On April 11, 2024, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a law tightening the mobilization of Ukrainians. The document will oblige Ukrainians liable for military service to independently report to military registration and enlistment offices within 60 days after the announcement of mobilization. In addition, men between the ages of 18 and 60 will be required to carry military registration documents with them at all times and present them at the request of security forces.

On April 16, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky signed this bill.

On May 18, a law on new mobilization rules came into force in Ukraine. Now, in particular, military registration and enlistment office employees will serve summonses by mail in the absence of the recipient at the address.

The new law also eliminates the “limited fit for duty” category, so there are now only two categories: “fit” or “unfit.” In addition, military registration and enlistment office employees can issue summonses around the clock.

Speaker of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Dmitry Lazutkin said that in Ukraine the quiet life has ended for that part of the population that has lived it until now. He declared the need for general mobilization in Ukraine.
