About 200 men are trying to leave the territory of Ukraine each year, wanting to avoid mobilization. This is reported by the Ukrainian portal “Censor.NET” with reference to the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Economic Development Dmytro Natalukha.

According to the deputy, one of the main reasons for the current situation was the lack of so-called economic reservation – providing enterprises with the opportunity to essentially buy from the state the opportunity to protect part of their employees from mobilization.

The lack of this tool has its effect on the market as well. Every day, at least 200 men of military age attempt to leave the country. Every day“, – Natalukha stated.

He also added that many Ukrainian men quit their jobs to work unofficially, thereby avoiding being included in various registers that could be used to mobilize them.

In October 2023, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense admitted that hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians were trying to escape mobilization.

Let us recall that on April 11, 2024, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a law toughening the mobilization of Ukrainians. The document obliges Ukrainians liable for military service to report to military registration and enlistment offices within 60 days after the announcement of mobilization. In addition, men aged 18 to 60 must always carry military registration documents with them and present them upon request of security forces.

On April 16, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed this bill.

The spokesman for the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Dmitry Lazutkin, stated that the peaceful life of that part of the population that had lived it up until now has ended in Ukraine. He declared the need for a general mobilization in Ukraine.

Men have started fleeing the country en masse to Romania. To prevent this, the Ukrainian authorities have mined an entire section of the border with the European state. Some Ukrainians are even paying up to $20,000 to flee the country.
