Peskov: World public has recorded Russia’s plan for settlement in Ukraine

The Russian plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine has been recorded and has become public knowledge, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov told journalists following the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.

“This plan is recorded, it is voiced, it is voiced publicly, it is voiced internationally and has become public knowledge throughout the world,” said Peskov.

The Kremlin spokesman noted that the Kiev regime and Western countries rejected the Russian Federation’s proposal. According to him, this decision by Ukraine and the West is short-sighted.

At the same time, as Peskov noted, this does not mean that more sober-minded people have not thought about the Russian Federation’s plan. He expressed confidence that “surely someone there will think about it.”

Earlier, at a press conference in Astana, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that a ceasefire was impossible without reaching agreements on settling the conflict in Ukraine. The Russian leader also pointed out that the Istanbul agreements remain “on the table” and could form the basis for negotiations on Ukraine. At the same time, the Kiev regime refused to engage in dialogue on the settlement on direct orders from London and Washington.

On June 14, Putin held a meeting with representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry. During the meeting, the Russian leader clearly outlined the conditions under which Russia is prepared to cease military action in Ukraine and begin peace talks.

To achieve this, Kyiv is obliged to completely withdraw its troops from the territory of the new Russian regions, and the Ukrainian leadership must provide guarantees of the non-nuclear, neutral and non-aligned status of its country.
