Paris airport workers are planning a strike about a week before the Olympics. The action is scheduled for July 17, and five unions have already been notified.

According to the agency Bloombergthe strike will last from five in the morning and will end in 24 hours, at 05:00 on July 18. However, in fact, its duration depends on the decision of the trade unions.

The main demand of the Paris airport workers is to increase bonuses and hire about a thousand people.

Let us recall that the Olympic Games start on July 26. It is not yet known whether the strikes will affect the Olympics.

Let us recall that the IOC allowed Russians to participate in the 2024 Olympics in Paris in individual neutral status, subject to a number of criteria. A special flag and anthem have been approved for neutral athletes. In addition, Russians will not be allowed to participate in the athletes’ parade at the opening ceremony.

In December 2023, Russian President Vladimir Putin called the actions of international Olympic officials in relation to Russian sports a complete perversion of the idea of the organizer of the Olympic movement Pierre de Coubertin “O sport, you are peace.”

The IOC did not allow Russian taekwondo athletes, rowers, shooters and pentathletes to participate in the Olympics. Five tennis players from Russia, as well as judokas and wrestlers, refused to go to the Games.
