More than 290 buildings in Belarus damaged by thunderstorms and strong winds

In the Brest region of Belarus, more than 290 buildings were damaged by thunderstorms and strong winds, said Tatyana Komarchuk, a representative of the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

“More than 290 buildings were damaged in the Brest region”the publication quotes her as saying. “SB. Belarus Today”.

The damaged buildings included a secondary school, a kindergarten, a primary school, 31 agricultural buildings, 115 residential buildings and 146 outbuildings.

Preliminary, no one was injured as a result of the bad weather.

It is specified that during the day, due to thunderstorms and wind, 459 transformer substations were de-energized, which led to a disruption in the power supply to 37 settlements.

Earlier, on July 9, problems with power supply arose in Dagestan due to worsening weather. The republic was hit by heavy rains, thunderstorms, hail and strong winds.
