Charles III urges England to return from Euro 2024 with heads held high

King Charles III of Great Britain has called on the England national football team to return to their homeland with their heads held high despite their defeat in the final of the 2024 European Championship.

He said this in a letter addressed to the national team and its coach Gareth Southgate. It was published by Buckingham Palace.

“My wife, my entire family and I encourage you and your support team to keep your heads held high.”the king emphasized.

According to him, reaching the final of the European Championship is already a huge achievement. Charles III added that the English will continue to support their footballers both today and during the “coming victories”.

Earlier, the first fight between English and Spanish fans took place in the fan zone.

Let us recall that in the final, the Spanish team beat England with a score of 2:1. Thus, Spain won the European Football Championship for the fourth time.
