Trump Demands Criminal Cases Against Him Be Dropped After Assassination Attempt

Former US leader and presidential candidate Donald Trump has demanded that criminal cases against him be dropped after an assassination attempt, the newspaper reports Politico.

During a television appearance, Trump recounted the moment of the recent assassination attempt in detail, after which he said that the US Democratic Party should immediately drop the criminal cases against him in order to “unite the country.”

“They must do this without delay,” – Trump said.

He also praised U.S. District Judge Eileen Cannon for dismissing the criminal case for illegally storing classified documents. Recall that after the case was dismissed, Special Prosecutor Jack Smith filed an appeal against the court’s decision.

Let us recall that on July 13, an assassination attempt was made on Donald Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania. During the presidential candidate’s speech, a shot was fired, after which Trump grabbed his right ear. Bodyguards and police immediately covered the politician and took him away from the podium.

The shooter was 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, who was eliminated by US intelligence services. Materials for making explosives were later found in the shooter’s home. One person died during the assassination attempt on Trump, and two others were seriously injured.
