Iranian guards armed with ‘impossible to detect’ missiles – Reuters

The IRGC said it could only display less than a tenth of its weapons. Its fleet has been reinforced with new missiles as well as missile systems, UAVs and radars.

The Iranian Navy has been armed with new high-explosive missiles, Reuters reported on August 9.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it has new so-called undetectable cruise missiles. They are equipped with high-explosive warheads.

“A large number of cruise missiles have been added to the Guards’ naval fleet. These new missiles have explosive warhead capacity that can go undetected, cause significant damage and hit their targets,” the statement said.

The IRGC Navy also reported that the fleet was replenished with various types of long- and medium-range missile systems, reconnaissance aircraft and naval radars.

“These systems are one of the most modern anti-water and underwater weapons of the Guards Fleet,” the Iranians assured.

State television showed more types of weapons. The IRGC assured viewers that they had seen only 210 of the 2,654 systems with their own eyes because the others could not be shown for security reasons.

The media has highlighted that Iran has one of the largest missile programs in the Middle East. The country sees the missiles as an important deterrent and retaliatory tool in case of war with the US and Israel. According to US intelligence, Iran has the most ballistic missiles in the region.

Let us recall that the Army Recognition Authority reported on August 7 that Iran is ready to deploy the latest 9-Day air defense systems. This weapon was developed by the Revolutionary Guard Corps as part of a broad modernization program for the Armed Forces.

Citing sources in the White House, Politico reported that Iran may refuse to attack Israel, noting that Washington and its allies have made several diplomatic efforts to achieve this.
