Lavrov: The West is running into an escalation of conflict with Russia

The Kiev regime, demanding permission from Western curators to use Anglo-French long-range Storm Shadow missiles to strike Moscow and St. Petersburg, is engaged in blackmail, while the West is “running into” an escalation of the conflict. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at a press conference following talks with Yemeni Foreign Minister Shaya Mohsen al-Zindani.

“This is blackmail. This is an attempt to pretend that the West wants to avoid excessive escalation, but in reality it is deceit. The West does not want to avoid escalation, the West, in Russian, is asking for it. I think this is already obvious to everyone“, the minister said.

Lavrov added that the discussion by Western countries of the possibility of giving Kyiv permission to strike deep into Russia is playing with fire, but they are “like little children, playing with matches.” He called this behavior of Western politicians dangerous for people who are entrusted with the possession of nuclear weapons.

On August 25, The Guardian newspaper wrote that the Kiev regime wants to stage a “demonstration attack” with Western missiles on targets deep inside Russian territory.
