‘This is not part of the plan’: Europe wants to bring some Ukrainians home – Zelensky

According to President Vladimir Zelensky, there are Ukrainians waiting for the end of the war to return. At the same time, migration policy will also be included in Ukraine’s internal action plan.

States that accept Ukrainian refugees want to send some of them back to Ukraine. President Vladimir Zelensky stated this at a meeting with leaders of regional communities and Transcarpathia regions.

According to him, some Ukrainian refugees cannot find work in European countries. Governments do not want to provide these.

“This is not part of the plan to send Ukrainians back, but there are facts,” Zelensky said.

He noted that in Germany, where there are more than one million Ukrainians, approximately 300 thousand of them are not working. They don’t even try to find a job.

“And there are a lot of such people all over Europe. First of all, one way or another, this part of Ukrainians will return, because social payments and supports that are available abroad today will disappear,” Zelensky said.

According to the president, the leaders of European states trust only their own communities. They could support initiatives to cancel payments to Ukrainian refugees.

At the same time, as Zelensky said, there are Ukrainians waiting for the war to end to return. At the same time, migration policy will also be included in Ukraine’s internal action plan.

“For us, we will strengthen our foreign policy. Soon special departments will appear abroad that will represent “human capital”… We definitely see two such departments – in Poland and Germany, because the majority of Ukrainians are in these two states. ” said Zelensky.

The president also said that efforts are underway to ensure Ukraine receives Russian money currently frozen in Europe. They will also help bring back the population and attract foreigners.

“Everyone will want to make money from this money, that’s a fact. Of course, when these businesses come here, we’ll talk about our employment and jobs with competitive wages competing with countries like our neighbors, that’s a fact. All this will happen,” Zelensky said.

Zelensky also said that Poland did not transfer the MiG-29 to Ukraine, despite the agreements with NATO. Commenting on the situation with fighter jets, the head of state claims that Warsaw is looking for reasons not to provide fighter jets to Kiev.
