An National Electoral Institute (INE) poll is filtered when Mexicans overwhelmingly support electoral reform, and then the opposition says, “We’re going against electoral reform.”
That’s why they do what they do in elections, keep it up… never change!
An electoral reform poll conducted by INE with public resources shows that the population supports it with a large majority.

Question: what will the opposition do? Will they not support the opinion of citizens in favor of the reform?

In the 2024 ballots we will see Lorenzo Cordova and/or Ciro Murayama representing the Mexican right, both of whom have done nothing but ridicule; first they make a survey on public resources, the results are not in their favor; they hide the results, and when it is discovered that they have hidden them, they do tricks to confirm that “they uploaded it!”

The survey is shown not to have been uploaded, mainly because the results are very convincing: 93% of Mexicans agree that political parties use less public resources.

87% agree that the number of deputies and senators should decrease; 74% agree that government resources for the INE be cut, 78% agree that magistrates and councilors be directly elected by the citizens.

68% voted for the expansion of the use of electronic voting, 53% agreed with the disappearance of state and local electoral institutions; and 52% agree that INE be replaced by the National Institute for Elections and Consultations, INEC.

The opinion of Mexicans in favor of approving this electoral reform is devastating; And the question is: with these numbers: what will PRI, PAN do; Civil movement, PRD? Will they support the figures thrown by the citizens?

Considering the discrepancies, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador suggested that INE conduct a new study… to which Lorenzo Cordova confirms that he does not have the money for this purpose.

In addition, there are two very important issues that we also want to discuss; what was announced by the Internal Control Authority (OIC) of the INE regarding the fact that one thousand 500 million pesos, which they had left in annual expenses, instead of returning them to the treasury of the Federation, they pocketed through a trust for the benefit of the directors.

This is called stealing money belonging to all Mexicans to use for the personal benefit of INE consultants. They must face a complaint filed by the Internal Control Authority.

In other words, the National Electoral Institute (INE) directs the savings from vacant positions to its Labor Obligations Fund when they are to be reintegrated into the Federation Treasury, as set out in Article 54 of the Federal Budget and the Liability Act.

Between 2017 and 2022, vacancies worth 90.2 million pesos were observed for several months. “This situation materializes the risk of generating unspent resources that could end up being used for purposes other than those for which they were approved, to ensure budget adequacy for other spending projects consistent with both the Core Budget and the Institutional Portfolio. or, if necessary, to the Fund for the solution of labor obligations INE), emphasized in the document.

Considering the situation, Morena requested that the head of the Organ of Internal Control (OIC), Jorge Jesús Zamora, be summoned to appear before the Chamber of Deputies to explain what was being done with the public resources of the Institute.

Where are the criteria of legality, honesty, efficiency, effectiveness, efficiency, rationality, rigidity, transparency, control and accountability of the NIS?

The DEC also found that there is discretion in evaluating and selecting election observer projects, as well as in allocating financial resources (La Jornada, November 6, 2022).

In addition, there is a resolution of the Commission on Human Rights regarding INE, which we advocate; in that it asks the INE to “strengthen its independence, exercise and promote the development of democratic life and promote the development of participatory democracy”.

We will not let the Human Rights Commission fall silent in the face of a supported recommendation, and of course we support the Human Rights Commission’s recommendations to the National Electoral Institute.

It is an ethical and moral duty to defend democracy; and electoral reform will certainly improve it, and therefore it must be defended.
