Toyota is preparing a luxury SUV based on the Highlander: first details

SUV Toyota Century could be the brand’s new flagship model. The cost of the new model will exceed 100 thousand dollars.

Toyota’s Century flagship sedan could be complemented by a new luxury SUV. The model will be built on the basis of a large Highlander crossover, but will be much more expensive than the Land Cruiser 300. This was reported on the Nikkei Asia website.

Toyota is actively working on the creation of the Century SUV. According to rumors, the initial cost of the model will exceed 100 thousand dollars.

The Century SUV can be based on the Highlander and equipped with a hybrid power plant. It will be based on front and rear electric motors and a 2.5-liter gasoline engine. Total power will be more than 340 hp.

The new model will be introduced primarily in the North American market. There the SUV will compete with the Lincoln Navigator, BMW X7 and Cadillac Escalade.

The Century SUV is scheduled to be assembled at the Toyota plant in Takhar. Now Lexus cars are produced there.

Previously Focus reports that the new Toyota Hilux 2023 pickup truck has been converted into a camper for the toughest conditions, and a large residential module has been installed instead of the loading dock.
