You can only replace the key on the Jaguar I-Pace with the receiver module installed in the vehicle. This procedure turned out to be very costly.
Jaguar I-Pace repair costs sometimes surprise even supercar owners. For example, replacing a damaged key with an electric car was estimated at 2,200 euros, like a new scooter. This was said by the owner of the electric crossover Ragnar Hagen from Norway, according to Motor.no.
Ragnar accidentally dropped his key ring while walking his dog. Despite falling from a relatively low height, the chassis cracked and the circuit board was damaged.
The Norwegian found a spare car key at his home and went to the official dealer where he bought the Jaguar I-Pace electric car in 2019. He was surprised that the repair was estimated at 25,000 kronor or 2,200 euros.
It turns out that it is necessary not only to replace the key with a car, but also to replace the receiver module installed in the car. The fact is that the electric car is equipped with a complex anti-theft system, and this module cannot be reprogrammed for a new key.
The insurance company initially refused to cover the repair costs, and Ragnar Hagen refused to pay. He returned home, soldered the key board, and rewound his case with tape. Oddly enough, the keychain worked after that.
But later the representatives of the insurance company agreed to reimburse 1,300 euros. As a result, the Norwegian paid 900 euros, and the Jaguar I-Pace electric car was repaired.
Previously Focus He said it costs 10,000 euros to replace the buttons in the cabin of a Ferrari.
