Porsche Taycan Electric Vehicle Sets New Range Record (photo)

The three journalists set off from Thailand for Singapore. On the way, the electric car made several stops to recharge.

Porsche Taycan broke the record for the fastest long-distance journey in an electric car. The electric sedan covered the 1,845 km from Thailand to Singapore in less than 30 hours. This was reported on the InsideEVs website.

Porsche decided to set an unusual record in honor of the brand’s 75th anniversary. To do this, three journalists were put in a Porsche Taycan 4S Cross Turismo and sent on a long journey from Bang Yai on the outskirts of Bangkok to Gardens by the Bay in Singapore. They took turns driving an electric car.

To travel such a long distance, the electric car needed several charging sessions. Journalists have only used Shell Recharge High Performance Charge fast charging stations to do this.

Each charge took no more than 25 minutes. This was enough to replenish the charge for hundreds of kilometers.

The claimed range of the Porsche Taycan 4S Cross Turismo with the Performance Battery Plus package is up to 512 km. This made it possible to cover 1845 km in just 29 hours and 15 minutes.

Previously Focus wrote that the updated Porsche 911 sports car will receive a hybrid power plant for the first time.
