Ford Mustang gets a mid-engined version for the first time (video)

The Ford Mustang GTD may be the fastest and most extraordinary sports car modification in history. The novelty has many external improvements.

The latest Ford Mustang GTD has been declassified online. This version has a different engine layout. This is reported on the Carscoops website.

A mid-engined Ford Mustang GTD has been spotted preparing for Monterey Auto Week. Most likely the engine is not behind the driver and passengers.

Unlike other versions of the model, the Ford Mustang GTD engine is positioned much further from the front. This allowed to improve the weight distribution of the sports car along the axes.

The novelty is based on the standard modification of the sports car, but it has many differences. Among the exterior changes you can see a new split grille, enlarged side air intakes and a massive rear wing.

The rear of the car has also been greatly expanded. Received a new set of alloy wheels.

It is known that the Ford Mustang GTD will be produced by the Canadian company Multimatic, which previously produced the Ford GT supercar. It is not yet clear whether this will be a road version of the sports car or a racing version.

The specifics of the new items are still unknown. Details will be announced after the presentation at Monterey Auto Week.

The best-in-class Ford Mustang Dark Horse is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine producing 500 horsepower. and 567 Nm of torque. It is paired with a choice of 6-speed manual or 10-speed automatic transmissions.
