Bloggers staged a drag race between the fourth-generation Suzuki Jimny and the Peugeot 205 GTI sports hatchback. The race featured a modified SUV. The video was published on Carwow YouTube channel.
Two Suzuki Jimny SUVs participated in the race. One of the cars was tuned and became more powerful. Their rival was the loaded Peugeot 205 GTI hatchback of the 1980s.
The first Suzuki Jimny was equipped with a standard 1.5-liter gasoline engine producing 102 hp. and 130 Nm of torque. The weight of the SUV is 1035 kg.
Under the hood of the second Suzuki Jimny, a modified 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with 165 hp was installed. and 195 Nm of torque. It is slightly heavier than the standard model.
Peugeot 205 GTI is equipped with a 1.9-liter turbocharged engine producing 122 horsepower. and 161 Nm of torque. The hatchback weighs only 860 kg.
In the first race, the tuned Suzuki Jimny confidently took the lead from a standing start. Before the finish line, the Peugeot 205 GTI almost caught up with him. The standard SUV came last.
Before the second drive, the driver removed the spare wheel of the Peugeot 205 GTI to reduce the weight of the car. Surprisingly, this helped the hatchback take first place in the race. Now the second place is taken by the tuned Suzuki Jimny.
In the third race, the Peugeot 205 GTI achieved victory. It was the faster of two modern SUVs.
