Luxury license plate sales are breaking records in Ukraine. As a rule, they are equipped with expensive premium models.
In 2023, orders for so-called “beautiful” license plates with paid combinations of numbers began to become more active in Ukraine. In August and October, they were equipped with 800 new and used cars imported from abroad. This was reported by Economic Fact.
As you know, the service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have long established a service for the sale of VIP license plates. Their cost varies from 4,000 to 36,000 hryvnia, and the most expensive are signs with sequential combinations of four identical numbers (1111, 5555, etc.) or from 0001 to 0009.
Demand for paid plates fell after the start of full-scale Russian occupation in 2022, but in 2023 it not only reached pre-war levels, but even surpassed them. The online service for selecting available license plates also contributes to this.
The most popular are elite plates with combination 7777 – about a thousand cars are already registered on them (their plates differ by letter combination). There are 200 cars, each with license plates 0001 and 8888.
In 2023, 0007 license plates are also in demand: from January to October, 145 cars received them – one and a half times more than in 2021. In second place is the combination 9999 (123 records compared to 80 records two years ago).
Most often, “nice” figures are chosen for expensive premium segment models, the demand for which has also increased recently. They are especially popular among owners of Lexus LX, Land Rover, Porsche Cayenne, Mercedes GLE, Toyota Land Cruiser, BMW X6 and X7.
