Temperatures and the first snow are expected to drop in Ukraine in the coming days. The press service of the State Service for Emergencies of Ukraine (SSES) reported on this on November 16, referring to meteorologists.
According to experts, 5-10 centimeters of snow may fall in Zhytomyr and Vinnytsia regions on November 18. In the Carpathian region, snow cover can reach up to 20 centimeters in places.
According to meteorologists, snow will fall in the eastern regions later, on November 20. It can cover the ground in the Sumy, Poltava, Dnepropetrovsk, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions by 10-15 centimeters.
Given the weather conditions, the State Emergency Service warned that there may be ice on the roads.
“Dress warmly and make sure that your vehicles are also prepared for harsh weather conditions! We ask drivers who have not yet done so to be careful to replace their summer tires with winter tires! Observe traffic rules and distance when approaching pedestrian crossings – reduce your speed and be as careful as possible”, the press service noted.
The ministry wished Ukrainians “safe travels and warm smiles from the first snowflakes.”
