The Ford Explorer electric car is a 4.46-meter compact crossover with rich equipment. The model has so far been offered in versions with 286 and 340 horsepower and a power reserve of up to 600 km.
The new Ford Explorer has entered production in Germany and is entering the European market. The crossover became electric for the first time. Its details were announced on the official Ford website.
The Ford Explorer electric car was supposed to start selling in the European Union in November, but market entry was delayed due to battery certification and improvements to the power plant.
In the EU, the price of the Ford crossover starts at 48,510 euros, but more affordable versions should be added later. It is already known that the new model will appear in Ukraine this year.
The new Ford Explorer 2024 has nothing in common with the gasoline model of the same name and will be produced in parallel with it. Reaching a length of 4.46 meters and a wheelbase of 2.77 meters, the electric car is based on the VW MEB platform, meaning it is the brother of the Volkswagen ID.4.
Power plants were also borrowed from VW ID.4. Ford Explorer electric crossover will currently be offered in rear-wheel drive 286 horsepower and all-wheel drive 340 horsepower versions with an 82 kWh battery. In the first case, the power reserve will be 555-602 km, in the second case it will be 516-566 km. The top version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds.
Base Ford Explorer package includes dual-zone climate control, camera, adaptive cruise control, navigation, heated seats and steering wheel, power and ventilated driver’s seat, wireless phone charging
The Premium option (starting from 52,136 euros) adds a panoramic roof, power tailgate, matrix headlights, 20-inch wheels and powerful Bang&Olufsen acoustics with 10 speakers.
