Kabul plans to buy a million barrels of oil from Russia. Such a statement was made on August 15 by the head of the Ministry of Industry of Afghanistan, Nuriddin Azizi.

“We offered Russia about a million barrels. If he can send more, then this is not a problem”– quotes the minister RIA News.

In addition, Azizi said that Kabul is ready to offer Russia its own products for barter exchange.

“The most important thing for us would be the oil and gas project. We would also like to consider the option of barter trade, provided that the Russian Federation has a need for some kind of Afghan products”– said the head of the department.

It became known yesterday that Azizi will visit Moscow and discuss purchases of Russian oil, wheat and sunflower oil on August 15.

And the Russian ambassador to Kabul, Dmitry Zhirnov, stressed that the Taliban (the organization is under UN sanctions for terrorist activities) are a reality in Afghanistan that cannot be avoided. Therefore, Moscow needs to interact with them where it meets its national interests.
