Representatives of several trade unions gathered on Wenceslas Square in Prague. People demanded from the government decent work, life and wages, which would be enough for all the necessary things and products.
According to the organizers’ plans, tens of thousands of people from different parts of the Czech Republic were supposed to come to the rally, but the police announced a limit of only one thousand participants.
“It’s wrong when people have to look for a second or even a third job. We want a decent job, life and wages,” – said one of the organizers, the chairman of the trade union, Josef Stršedula.
He talked about the need to raise the cost of living and introduce a ceiling on the prices of a number of products. An example was given by the head of the trade unions for health care and social assistance, Dagmar Zhitnikova. According to her, butter cost 30 kroons six months ago, and now its price has risen to 80.
Energy resources and medicine are getting more expensive. According to the iDNES.cz portal, the chairman of the National Council of the Disabled, Vaclav Krasa, said that a woman approached him. She needs an oxygen machine to live, but it is electric, and the unfortunate woman simply does not have money to pay her bills. At the same time, at the meeting, the Minister of Health of the Czech Republic, Roman Primula, said that “inflation is not his topic.”
At the same time, on October 3, the Czech Foreign Ministry called on its citizens to leave the territory of Russia and refuse to visit the Russian Federation.
