Additional restrictions may be imposed on Ukrainians due to adverse weather conditions, where the increase in energy consumption increases.
On Friday, January 6, emergency cuts may begin in Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the power transmission system operator Ukrenergo.
As stated in the chapter, as of 11:00 am on January 6, the level of electricity consumption in Ukraine is increasing. Ukrenergo explains this by adverse weather conditions, which are accompanied by a significant drop in air temperature.
The operator urged Ukrainians to consume electricity more moderately in order to avoid additional restrictions, as there may be emergency power cuts in Ukraine due to exceeding the consumption limits set for all regions.
“In order to balance the energy system, consumption limits valid between 08:00 and 23:00 were determined in all regions. On January 5, emergency power cuts were started in most regions due to exceeding the limits. On the other hand, due to the destruction and occupation of some of the power plants. The energy system cannot afford it.”
On the website of DTEK “Kyiv Electricity Grids”, it is said that hourly stabilization power outage programs are working in Kiev. Residential customers can check the specific schedule for more information on possible restrictions.
It should be noted that from January 3, hourly cut programs began to operate in Kiev. The company DTEK “Kyiv Electric Networks” announced the introduction of restrictions for home consumers with an increase in the consumption level of the industry.
A few days ago, the Cabinet of Ministers warned that power cuts and heavy use of generators will cause a rise in food prices in Ukraine.
