Intense shelling of Ukraine on February 10: emergency cuts began in the regions

Supplier companies explain that emergency shutdowns are a mandatory preventive measure that will prevent significant damage to Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

Due to the threat of missile attack, some parts of Ukraine are experiencing emergency power outages. In addition, users were left without power due to the consequences of a missile attack at night. For this reason, emergency power cuts are implemented in Kiev and the region, as well as in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The press service of the Ukrainian energy company DTEK said on February 10 that this is a mandatory measure to prevent damage to the energy infrastructure.

The message states, “This is a mandatory preventive step that will prevent significant damage to the energy infrastructure if enemy missiles hit the target. Do not ignore the air strike signals and believe in air defense.”

According to Ukrenergo, during the Russian offensive on the morning of February 10, several high-voltage infrastructure facilities in the eastern, western and southern regions were hit, resulting in power outages in some areas.

“To minimize the possible consequences of an attack and to save the energy system, Ukrenergo is taking the necessary preventive measures, emergency shutdowns are in place,” Ukrenergo said.

Zaporozhye region

The press service of the Zaporizhzhya oblenergo reported that as a result of a Russian attack on the night of February 10, a number of technological violations occurred in the electrical networks of the regional center. For this reason, large-scale power outages have occurred in Zaporozhye, although most of the consumers have not yet been disconnected from electricity.

Regional energy officials said, “About 2.5 thousand subscribers were left without electricity in one district of the city. Emergency and restoration work continues.”

Donetsk region

There are emergency cuts in the Donetsk region.

DTEK said, “There are emergency shutdowns in the area (without using the hourly shutdown schedule). The previously compiled stabilization shutdown schedules are not yet valid.”

The information source of the Pokrovskaya regional community reported that the electricity was urgently cut off for all users.

“By order of Ukrenergo, a power outage was applied to all consumers of Pokrovskaya TG. The deadline is for a special order,” the message says.

Kharkov and Nikolaev region

According to regional regional energy companies, preventive power cuts are carried out in the Kharkiv and Nikolaev regions to minimize the consequences of a possible missile attack.

Train movements in Ukraine

The information service of the operator “Ukrzaliznytsya” reported that due to the blackout of certain sections in Ukraine, 5 out of 65 flights were delayed by 5 minutes or more, and 3 more trains were delayed by more than 30 minutes.

Passengers of train 712/711 Kyiv – Kramatorsk will be transferred to a spare train with thermal locomotive. Also, train 722 “Intercity +” going to Kharkov direction will move on heat draft.

The operator said, “The situation at all train stations in the country is currently under control, there is a backup power supply. In cities where air alert has been declared, boarding and disembarking continue through underground passages.”

Recall that on the night of February 10, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation launched a missile attack on Kharkov, Dnieper and Zaporozhye. According to official sources, energy infrastructure facilities were damaged. The enemy used dozens of cruise missiles and Iranian kamikaze aircraft.
