There are no grounds for rising prices for rice in the current season. This was reported in the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
According to the agency, now retail prices are stable. Specialists conducted monitoring and found out that only 3.89% of the harvested crop does not comply with GOST. The remaining 96.11% in terms of quality and volume fully satisfy the request of processing companies and retailers.
In addition, the entire first half of the year there is a ban on the export of rice and rice cereals abroad.
“Thus, there are no grounds for price growth in the current season, which is also confirmed by the data of the National Rice Union”– quote the statement of the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture “News”.
In turn, the National Rice Union noted that it is not planned to reduce the sown area this year.
“There are no prerequisites for their growth (prices – ed.). In the coming week, the National Rice Union expects a decrease in wholesale rice prices, which is due to an increase in raw rice stocks compared to autumn forecasts”– added NRS Executive Director Mikhail Radchenko.
Recall that on March 21, Russian media reported on the risk of a sharp rise in the price of rice in our country.
