According to the NACP and NBU, Raiffeisen Bank International provided credit holidays and preferential loans to employees of the RF Armed Forces fighting in Ukraine.
The National Anti-Corruption Agency recognized Raiffeisen Bank International as an international sponsor of the war in Ukraine. This is stated in NAPC’s message on the division’s official Telegram channel.
The Austrian banking group was included in the list of international sponsors of terrorism due to its continued financial activities in the Russian Federation after February 24, 2022.
Also, according to NACP representatives, Raiffeisen Bank International actually recognized fake “DNR” and “LNR” through its representation in Russia.
According to the information available to the national agency, the bank benefited 200% from the sanctions, causing its competitors to exit the Russian market. Thus, in 2022, the bank paid 4.8 times more to the Russian budget than in the entire pre-war year. Raiffeisen Bank’s Russian division paid €559 million to the Russian budget.
“This is equal to the cost of about 95 Kalibr missiles, with which the terrorist state regularly fires peaceful Ukrainian cities,” the agency’s press service said.
In response, the National Bank of Ukraine announced that Raiffeisen Bank in the Russian Federation has provided favorable conditions for lending to the Russian army. Therefore, the bank offers credit holidays and preferential loans for employees of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation fighting in Ukraine.
“Furthermore, the bank is playing with Russian propaganda by describing the war as a “special military operation,” the national regulator said.
Recall, on March 6 it became known that illegal online casinos have withdrawn tens of billions of hryvnia from Ukraine. A significant number of gambling operators operating illegally in Ukraine are either Russian or have roots in the hostile country.
And in January 2023 Focus He told the stories of Ukrainians who had problems with Raiffeisen Bank. One of the victims in particular complained that almost 132,000 UAH had disappeared from his account.
