The Pension Fund of Ukraine talked about the novelty of why retirees can cut part of their pension.
Due to the differences in the calculation of payments for working and non-working pensioners, a partial deduction of the pension is possible. If the pensioner received more money than he should have received, he has the opportunity to return it on his own initiative. However, in case of refusal to return the overpaid amounts, the Pension Fund of Ukraine will automatically withhold the amount of overpayment, but not more than 20% of the monthly pension. This was reported by the “Channel 24” broadcast with reference to the PFC.
From September 1, retirees and persons receiving card payments may face the problem of suspension of pensions. This is due to the introduction of mandatory identification required in connection with the end of the COVID-19 quarantine. If these retirees and cardholders do not complete the mandatory identification procedures, their pensions may be temporarily suspended.
To avoid blocking of the account and non-payment of pension funds, a person receiving a pension should follow these steps:
- First of all, retirees and IDPs will have to apply to any Oschadbank branch to receive payments. Make sure you have a passport or other identity document with you.
- Do not forget about the main payment card or main electronic pension certificate (EPC), which must be presented to an Oschadbank employee.
- After that, individuals will be able to receive cash or see the funds balance in the account.
Recall that in March Ukrainian pensions were indexed by 19.7%. The PFC calculated how the average payout increased. According to the Pension Fund, the average pension in Ukraine as of March 1, 2023 is 5,219.69 UAH.
And at the end of June, it became clear to whom and how payments will be increased from July 1. According to expert Andrei Novak, it would be beneficial to increase financial assistance to IDPs if there are funds in the budget. Expert Yaroslav Zhalilo drew attention to the fact that indexation for those who retired under the special law has not been done for a long time. The recalculation of pensions will occur automatically.
