Meanwhile, the head of Ukraine’s NJSC Naftogaz, Alexey Chernyshov, said in an interview with RBC-Ukraine on December 6 that Ukraine will begin to gradually abandon special duties (PSO) on gas suppliers to consumers starting from 2024. Let us remind you that heat producers for home consumers within the framework of PSO must pay UAH 7,420 (including VAT) per thousand cubic meters for gas, as in 2022. Thanks to this situation, heat tariffs for Ukrainians remained at last year’s level.

“My personal opinion is that a phased or gradual cancellation of the PSO is possible as early as 2024. This will not affect the consumption of sensitive categories of consumers; these need to be protected. But the cancellation must be synchronized with appropriate support for those who need it,” he noted. Chernyshov.

Let’s remember before Focus Already in December he wrote that Ukrainian households will pay more for electricity. This is because many people use electric heating devices or air conditioners in the winter.
