The state is trying to support and assist military personnel defending Ukraine. According to the Free Legal Aid website, participants in combat operations (UBC) are provided with a number of benefits, including financial ones.
What financial benefits does UBI have?
Participants in combat operations have the following rights, as provided for by the Law of Ukraine “On the Status of War Veterans, Guarantees of Their Social Protection”:
- 75% discount on fuel if you live in a house without central heating;
- Free travel on all types of urban passenger transport, public road transport in rural areas, as well as rail and water transport. UBD is also entitled to free electronic tickets.
- the person is paid temporary disability allowance at 100% of the average salary, regardless of length of service;
- additional financial benefits regarding the payment of taxes, duties, duties and other payments to the budget in accordance with tax and customs legislation;
- obtaining a loan for the construction, reconstruction or major repairs of residential buildings and outbuildings, connecting them to utilities networks, communications, as well as a loan repaid within 10 years for the construction or purchase of country houses and landscaping of garden plots;
- the subscription fee for telephone use was set at 50 percent of approved tariffs;
- Annual one-time cash assistance.
For participants in combat operations, pensions or lifetime allowances or state social assistance paid in lieu of pensions are increased by 25% of the subsistence level of persons who have lost the ability to work.
