New Year’s price: How much are Olivier, crab salad, “shuba” and vinaigrette now?

Food and non-alcoholic beverage prices increased by 0.8% in November. The highest increase in prices was experienced in vegetables with 13.2 percent. Milk prices increased by 2.6% and butter prices increased by 2.5%. At the same time, the price of sugar fell by 4.3%, the price of fruit by 2.1% and the price of sunflower oil by 1.9%. After calculations, it turned out that Olivier can be considered a “national” indicator of price dynamics, since the conditional index of the New Year’s salad of 4.9% hardly differs from the official inflation rate in November-November – 5.1%. But can this salad be considered the most budget-friendly?

Due to the continuing rise in food prices Focus I calculated the exact cost of several New Year’s salads per 1 kilogram. To do this, we took recipes from popular culinary sites, added up the cost of all ingredients and divided it by the total weight.

Thus, the total cost of Olivier is 295.46 UAH – this is the price for 3.06 kg (the average weight of a boiled egg is 55 g). A. The price of one kilogram of Olivier according to this recipe is 96.56 UAH.

According to the recipe below, 1.72 kg of herring under a fur coat will cost 112.04 UAH. Well A kilogram of herring under a fur coat will cost 65.14 UAH.

• Beets, 300 g – 3.18 UAH;
• Potatoes, 300 g – 4.47 UAH;

• Potatoes, 500 g – 7.45 UAH;
• Beets, 400 g – 4.24 UAH;
• Carrots, 250 g – 2.56 UAH;
• Pickled cucumbers, 350 g – 61.25 UAH;
• Sauerkraut, 350 g – 32.20 UAH;
• Onion, 200 g – 2.82 UAH;
• Green peas, 400 g – 51.89 UAH;
• Sunflower oil, 50 g – 3.00 UAH.
• TOTAL: 165.41 UAH.

To prepare 1.14 kg of crab salad with fresh cucumbers, you will need to spend 122.43 UAH. transformed into The cost of crab salad is 107.39 UAH per kilogram.

Crab salad price:

• Crab sticks, 300 g – 52.47 UAH;
• Canned corn, 250 g – 20.66 UAH;
• Eggs, 3 pieces. — 17.28 UAH;

• Fresh cucumber, 150 g – 14.03 UAH;
• Onion, 100 g – 1.41 UAH;
• Mayonnaise, 100 g – 15.2 UAH.

So, of these four popular salads, the most budget-friendly was herring under a fur coat, and the most expensive was crab salad.

Let’s remember that vegetable prices in Ukraine are lower than in 2022. This was because good harvest and weather conditions made it possible to increase production volumes in certain regions.
