LED lamps for Ukrainians: where free LEDs are distributed and who can get them

The Ministry of Economy said that old lamps can be brought to the ministry within a month from the moment you purchase five new ones.

In Ukraine, a program continues to be implemented in which retirees can replace old incandescent bulbs with five LED lamps for free in Ukrposhta branches. As of January 4, Ukrainians in 23 thousand settlements will be able to benefit from the program. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.

“Pensioners will not need to immediately bring the old lamps for replacement. They can be brought to the Ukrposha branch within a month from the moment they receive five additional LED lamps,” the message says.

In order to make an exchange, retirees must submit the following documents:

  • passport;
  • identification code;
  • identity of the retiree;
  • phone number.

“As of December 5, retirees replaced 4.5 million old incandescent lamps with new energy-saving lamps,” the Ministry of Economy said.

The lamp replacement program in Ukraine is implemented with the support of the European Union (EU). For this, European partners delivered 6.6 million LED bulbs to our country at the end of winter 2023.
