Increasing pension payments: What bonuses will be in March and who will receive them?

Already in the spring months, Ukrainian retirees will be able to receive various additional payments to their pensions. So their payments can increase significantly. Channel 24 writes this.

The size of pension payments for people over 70 is increasing every month. Additional payments are made to the basic pension in the month of the retiree’s birthday.

You do not need to apply separately to the Ukrainian Pension Fund to receive this additional payment. The amount of the surcharge depends on the age of the pensioner. In other words, as the person grows, the amount of additional payments made to the pension also increases. Like this:

• Persons aged 70 to 74 years old (inclusive) – receive an additional 300 hryvnia;
• from 75 to 79 years old – 456 hryvnia;
• From 80 years old – 570 hryvnia.

What other bonuses can you get?

Pensioners in Ukraine have the opportunity to receive other additional payments. Specifically, we are talking about allowance for children.

That is, people of retirement age who raise children on their own can receive an additional monthly fee of 150 hryvnia.

There is also: overtime bonus. The amount of this additional fee is calculated individually.

“For each full year of insurance service exceeding 35 years for men and 30 years for women (and for pensions granted before 01.10.2011 – more than 25 years for men, more than 20 years for women), the old-age pension increases by 1%. The Pension Fund announced that the monthly amount calculated in accordance with Article 27 of the Law cannot exceed 1 percent of the minimum age pension specified in the first paragraph of the first paragraph of Article 28 of the Law.

At the same time, starting from January 1, 2024, the minimum pension increased to 2,361 hryvnia. Therefore, the maximum amount of additional payments for each year of service is 23.61 hryvnia.

The publication states that you must also contact the PFU for the appropriate additional payment. To confirm your length of service, you must submit the relevant documents to the Pension Fund.

Also there is this Bonus for the title of “Honorary Donor of Ukraine”. Their supplement is 10% of the minimum subsistence amount per person. Ukrainians are given this status if they pass for free:

• 40 doses of whole blood or its components via apheresis;
• 60 doses of plasma.

Indexation of pensions in March

A significant increase in pensions is planned for the beginning of March. The preliminary figure for the pension increase is 13%.

But not everyone will feel this recalculation; we are talking about:

• retirees who retired within the last 3 years;
• citizens receiving high pensions;
• People who have payments below the minimum amount.

Let us remind you that it was learned on December 24 that not everyone who could not receive a pension could receive temporary social assistance due to insufficient insurance coverage. If a person receives other payments, works, or has other sources of income, government officials may deny such benefits.
